Founded in January 2012 by partners David Stuck and Nick Lischerong, The TIN Kitchen® began as a mobile eatery and catering company providing Charlotte with fresh, innovative cuisine. The concept is simple: use quality product prepared by talented chefs served by friendly staff in a comfortable atmosphere.
David and Nick met at Clemson University, where they both studied business management. Sharing a passion for food, the two often discussed restaurant concepts that they might open in the future. Nick went on to get his Masters of Business Administration from Clemson, while David set off for the West coast and ultimately wound up at Le Cordon Bleu Culinary School in Portland, Oregon where he earned a degree in Culinary Arts and Management. While attending school, David worked as a Sous Chef for a local restaurant and wine bar. During his time in Portland, David began experimenting with creative tacos, and received an overwhelmingly positive response from the restaurant’s clientele. In 2010, he decided to return to the East coast and begin working on a culinary concept of his own.
Nick has founded and developed multiple businesses throughout the Carolinas and Europe. It was this drive and passion for business development that led to his partnership with David on The TIN Kitchen® project. Balancing a love for food with keen strategic and financial insight, the two launched a gourmet food truck concept, which has since branched into a full-spectrum food services group under the umbrella of TIN® Partners, which includes: a catering and event planning division, culinary consulting company, casual restaurant located in the heart of uptown Charlotte, and several other projects currently in process.
Shortly after launching, the duo met Charlie Reid through a mutual friend. Charlie is a three-time graduate of Johnson & Wales University with degrees in Culinary Arts, Restaurant Management, and an MBA in Business Administration. Charlie joined the team, as Executive Chef and Partner, overseeing culinary operations, from menu planning, recipe development, and management of kitchen staff. His culinary skills have helped launch TIN® to the next level, particularly in the catering division, which is his true forte.
TIN® Partners continues to pursue sustainable growth through three primary principals: establishing and maintaining relationships with local farmers and purveyors, cultivating and strengthening partnerships with other businesses within the Charlotte Community, and working to ensure that we have the best team members possible to help execute and maintain our quality and customer service standards, and creativity for future brand development. It is through these means that TIN® will continue to push the envelope within the Charlotte dining and catering scene. We look forward to being an ever-expanding staple of the Charlotte culinary scene for years to come.
